Main duties

Our main task is to represent the interests of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region in the Institutions of the European Union. Our goal exist in promoting the Region and in making sure that local administrative representatives and economic entities from our Region are easily facilitated access to the existing EU projects and funds. Our office serves as an accurate source of information about developments in the EU’s regional policies and decisions taken by the EU institutions.

We support activities aiming at the development of the Region and act as an intermediary in reaching out to new partners for projects.
We promote our Region and lobby it’s interests in the European Commission, the European Parliament and in the European Committee of the Regions.
We cooperate with Polish and foreign diplomatic services in Brussels, such as the Embassy of the Republic of Poland to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the European Union.
We work closely together with the Members of the European Parliament as well as with the Members of the Committee of the Regions, representing the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region.
We underline the economical values of the Region to encourage foreign investments in the Region.
We promote the economic, touristic and cultural values of the Region by taking part in the most important events in Brussels.

Achievements

Over time, we have been representing the Region during the biggest events organized in Brussels such as the Open Doors, European Week of Regions and Cities – Open Days, Fete de Tervuren or the Polish Golf Day. We co-organised and coordinated the Camerimage Winners Show Film Festival in Brussels and took part in a large series of events aiming at promoting the cultural and economic potential of the Region, such as symphonic concerts, poetic evenings and dinners for investors, presenting them our local products.

A few times a year we organise study visits for employees of the local administrations, students and pupils from our Region. We support the “Europa Kujaw i Pomorza”- Association in it’s work to set up educational programmes for employees of local administrations. Working closely together with Members of the European Parliament and the EKIP Association, gives us the chance to organise several 2 months internships for employees of our local administration.

Localization

The office of our regional representation is located in the close proximity of the EU institutions, other regional representations and embassies. This location has a positive impact on the effectiveness of our work, facilitates access to information as well as the promotion of our Region in the heart of Europe.
