Efektem realizacji w projektu jest druga w Polsce scena szekspirowska, wzorowana na londyńskim ,,The Globe” i związana z Teatrem ,,Baj Pomorski”. Ma ona formę instalacji artystycznej, złożonej z kilku elementów: amfiteatru z zadaszoną widownią, animowanego Parku Rzeźb oraz BalkonowegoTeatru Mechanicznego, na który składa się 120 lalek i 12 scen związanych z porami roku oraz historią miasta Torunia.

O określonych godzinach ruchome rzeźby wykonują specjalny dźwiękowo-wizualny pokaz!

Scena Szekspirowska w Toruniu to projekt, którego celem było pokazanie związków literatury oraz teatru z ludzką wyobraźnią. Ta ostatnia stanowi fundament mitu, który w alegoryczno-symboliczny sposób opisuje ludzką naturę i świat. Epoka renesansu, której „dzieckiem” jest Szekspir, czerpała z tradycji antycznych i odkrywała je na nowo. Nasz ogród stanowi łącznik pomiędzy tradycją a współczesnością. Znajdą tu Państwo bohaterów ze świata dramatów Szekspira, jak i postaci mityczne z różnych kultur, które kształtowały i kształtują ludzką wyobraźnię, a jako że jesteśmy w „Baju Pomorskim” (świecie teatru lub w ogrodzie teatralnym) nasi bohaterowie noszą teatralne maski, bo jak pisał Szekspir w komedii Jak Wam się podoba:

„Świat jest teatrem (…)”

Balkonowy Teatr Mechaniczny odnosi się natomiast w pewnej części do polskiej kultury ludowej, pór roku, historii Torunia i udowadnia, że w naszej codzienności istnieją pewne „swojskie” figury mityczne, które gwarantują cykliczność, dają nam poczucie bezpieczeństwa – poczucie, że w danym momencie wszystko jest tak, jak być powinno.

Scena Szekspirowska stanowi dopełnienie działalności Teatru ,,Baj Pomorski” – to tutaj w 1955 roku odbyła się prapremiera lalkowa Snu nocy letniej w reżyserii Stanisława Stapfa.

Extension of the Baj Pomorski Theatre

 The project result is the second Shakespearean scene in Poland, modelled on the London „The Globe” and associated with the „Baj Pomorski” Theatre. It has the form of an artistic installation, which consists of several elements: an amphitheatre with a roofed audience, an animated Sculpture Park and a Balcony Mechanical Theatre, which houses 120 dolls and 12 scenes related to the seasons and Toruń history.

It is a place where can find Shakespeare drama heroes as well as mythical characters from different cultures that shaped and are shaping still human imagination. At certain times, the moving sculptures make a special sound-visual show!

The Shakespeare Stage in Toruń is a project aimed at showing the relationship between literature, theatre and human imagination. The latter is the foundation of a myth that describes human nature and the world in an allegorical and symbolic way. The Renaissance era, whose „child” is Shakespeare, drew from ancient traditions and rediscovered them. Our garden links tradition and modernity. It is a place where can find Shakespeare drama heroes as well as mythical characters from different cultures that shaped and are shaping still human imagination, and as we are in „Baj Pomorski” (the world of theater or in the theatre garden) our heroes wear theatrical masks, because, as Shakespeare wrote in the comedy As You Like It:

„The world is a theatre (…)”

 On the other side, the Balcony Mechanical Theatre refers to a certain extent to Polish folk culture, the seasons of the year and Toruń history. It proves that in our everyday life there are certain „native” mythical figures that guarantee cyclical character of nature which gives us a sense of security – the feeling that everything is the way it ought to be at a given moment.

 The Shakespearean scene complements „Baj Pomorski” Theatre activities – it is a scene where the first performance of a puppet version of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, directed by Stanisław Stapf, took place in 1955.
